Jess is a multi-award winning Senior Paediatric Occupational Therapist (OT) who has been published in the Huffington Post and The Journal of Occupational Science. Jess trained as an Occupational Therapist in University College Cork (UCC) in Ireland. While studying in UCC, she received the H.H. Stewart Scholarship Award in OT & The Gobal Undergraduate Award for Social Innovation for her research on children's online social participation. After graduating, she moved to Australia where she worked as Private Paediatric OT in Melbourne and Brisbane, both in clinic and school settings.
In 2018, Jess founded My OT & Me where she provides home-based OT intervention to children and online support & education for parents and educators through her platform. In October 2019, she launched Octobox, a motor skills programme for children aged between 3-9 years old, after identifying a need for increased access and availability to home and school-based supports. Jess works alongside multiple organisations in Ireland in order to support as many children, teachers and families as possible. In 2021, she launched a certificate course for educators and parents to empower and support their understanding of child development and offer practical strategies that can be implemented at home and at school.
